Parking is available in Margaret Drake Elliot Park behind the US Coast Guard Station or travel into Pere Marquette Park and park along the beach to walk to the lighthouses.
Directions
From the South
- Take US-23 into Alpena. Do not take the business loop.
- From the South turn right onto South Harbor Drive in town and go east towards Lake Huron.
- Turn right or east onto Prentiss Street into the parking area.
- The Alpena South Breakwall is accessed through the parking lot with the closest address being Alpena Yacht Club located at 250 Prentiss Street Alpena, MI 49707.
- Walk to the end out the breakwall to view the lighthouse.
From the North or West
- Take US-23 or M-32 into Alpena. Do not take the business loop.
- From the North after the sharp curve to head South, turn left onto South Harbor Drive and go east towards Lake Huron.
- Turn right or east onto Prentiss Street into the parking area.
- The Alpena South Breakwall is accessed through the parking lot with the closest address being Alpena Yacht Club located at 250 Prentiss Street Alpena, MI 49707.
- Walk to the end out the breakwall to view the lighthouse.
